OpenAstroLink is an open, node-first control layer for cameras, mounts, focusers, plate solving, autofocus, guiding and automated observing workflows.

Native hardware

QHY, Canon EOS, EQDrive/Sky-Watcher, Gemini, ZWO ASI/EAF and compatibility backends behind one control model.

Live acquisition

Live View, histogram-assisted exposure, scene/star autofocus and finder-alignment tools for practical setup at the telescope.

Astrometry & automation

Plate solving, adaptive urban capture, polar alignment, guiding, sessions and resource-locked asynchronous operations execute on the node.

NODE FIRST

Keep control close to the hardware.

The OpenAstroLink node owns device sessions and long-running operations. GUIs and integrations communicate over HTTP/WebSocket, while Stellarium uses its telescope-control bridge for live mount position and GOTO.

Status

The project is under active hardware-in-the-loop development. Safety gates remain enabled for mount functions until each physical geometry is calibrated and qualified.
